Zombie Alert

The University Village sent me papers from their Lawyer to my house Wednesday.
Zombie Walk is no longer a surprise to them and I was sure we would have to change our route.....
That's private property and corporate thinking for you......
The thing about zombies is that they never give up! I filled out their "We are not responsible" paperwork and pray Seattle Zombies have common sense.
I met with "Management" on Thurs. They are not thrilled that Zombies will be infesting their Village, and they hope it pours down rain on us.....but they did not say they would ask us to leave or give us trouble.
The head of U Village Security is a "Shaun of the Dead" fan. (Good for us, because we make his job a pain in the arse on Sat.)
The U-Village Manager, "Suzie" has a 8 year old who is afraid of Mickey Mouse. Errr..............
I explained what a Zombie was and described Zombie Walk as theatrical as opposed to violent.
She's definitely not a fan of "scary" but she and her co-workers were good sports nonetheless!
We're an R rated show at a G rated venue.
If we can resist eating the children, don't mess with people who don't want to play, leave no messes & thank the security people for helping out we should be in the clear.
I will be attaching maps soon.....
Let's WALK!!!

* Advice on how to stay more incognito in the future would be greatly appreciated.......

Next year for sure I'll try to be more incognito.
I feel confident that now enough people know about it that I can announce the stops like a week before and still have a good turnout!

There's got to be some way that you can legally exculpate yourself - I dunno, maybe some kind of message saying that people's participation is completely voluntary and that you cannot and will not accept any liability for the actions of participants. ??
As for being incognito, you could do what Dirty Bunny does and only reveal the venue a couple of days before the event.

0124 number on yelp and again on mesart. It looks like the main prob is that there's been too much crossover between cleozombie and cleowolfus. In the future, any postings made from any "cleo" account should be along the lines of "I hear these crazy people are doing a zombie mob: link to zombiewalk.com page" Start some accounts that aren't linked to your name and have them take over the myspace group, etc. Always refer to yourself as "We" and to Cleo in the third person. And don't announce routes through private property at all. Announce a route nearby, and take a detour.

From the cacophony.org primer:
" You'll also need to lie. Especially lie to the media. They'll be grateful for the more colorful copy. Yes, yes, yes, we all know the media "co-opts" underground culture, but that's hardly a reason to shun it. Make the media your play partner. Chances are your "underground" interests were at some point nurtured by one of those media mongers who makes a living by spilling the underground beans. It would be uncharitable to keep the fun of Cacophony to yourself once you're "inside". Share with the media, lie, contribute your myth-making skills to our culture."

Isn't it Sunday that the clocks roll back an hour? What time is it going to be at, 4.30?
