Zombie Walk
Walk with your un-dead brethren through the corridors of the Emerald City’s shopping center- University Village. With all your gore and glory, smile at the soccer Moms and dine on Seattle shoppers!
Be one of us because you are a Horror movie fan, because you love costume, or to make a statement. How often do you get to participate in something this weird?
All that is required is that you show up in costume, respect laws and practice common sense. Bring your friends. Nothing says you love someone quite like caking yourself in make-up, limping down the street together and eating them in the shopping mall!
People's participation in this event is completely voluntary and I cannot and will not accept any liability for the actions of participants.
Zombies are infiltrating U-Village on Oct. 29th
4:30 PM Sharp
Meet at the back QFC parking lot
6:00 pm reservations for cocktails/dinner at Atlas-http://www.chowfoods.com
cash only! No separate checks. (email me if you want to see their specific Zombie menu- $6.00- $18.00 foods)
8:15 $5.00 Zombie movie! TBA @ the Historic University Theater
5510 University Way NE • Seattle, Washington • (206) 352-8291
*It's a rare opportunity to watch a Zombie movie in a theater full of Zombies who won't eat you!
Potentially useful things to keep in mind:
1. Participate at your own risk.
2. Do not pretend to “attack” people not part of Zombie Walk who do not obviously want to be involved.
3. Only swarm parked cars because, if we cause traffic problems- the Police will interfere.
4. Do not bring anything that looks like a weapon to the Village no matter how fake.
(There will be opportunities to play fight walking to the Theater.)
5.There are no permits for this event. You are responsible for yourself. Be safe and look out for the safety of others!
* We all will need to work together to stay a horde! Zombies are only really effective when traveling together in large groups. More details T.B.A..

3. A few planned scenarios.... like- corralling of "victims" in a corridor!

F.Y.I. You will see some activist oriented stuff on this site by my other group- Dead Awake.
Zombie Walk is NOT a politically oriented event. Horror movie fans and Zombie freaks of all ages and perspectives come hither and help scare people and play with the concept of a macabre fantasy collective.

After showing pictures and video around, I've had lots of people say "that sounds like it was lots of fun" and three people specifically say "oh that's it, next year I'm going". I'm looking forward to it, and I'm not alone!

My walks have been almost entirely web-based. If you comb through this journal you will see everything I've published. Use a free service like LJ or MySpace or make your own site. Make lots of Zombie business cards to promote your info site. Send press releases to your local media well in advance. Serarch the web for good links to costume websites for your participants. Some cities need permits and some cops are especially mean when provoked, so use common sense.
Above all.......
1. Promote it as a COMMUNITY event and invite people from all generations so it doesn't attract too many ill-intended punk kids. (although I love to be punk and ill-intended)
2. Don't try to capitalize on it.....I don't want to see Zombie Walk t-shirts at Hot Topic. Puke.
GOOD LUCK and send pictures to "Zombie Walk" on flickr.com!

Aerosmith’s song “Eat the Rich”

'Cause I'm sick of your complaining
About how many bills
And I'm sick of all your bitching
'Bout your poodles and your pills
And I just can't see no humor
About your way of life
And I think I can do more for you
With this here fork and knife
(Chorus)
Eat The Rich
There's only one thing that they are good for
Eat The Rich
Take one bite now - come back for more
Eat The Rich
I gotta get this off my chest
Eat The Rich
Take one bite now - spit out the rest
So I called up my head shrinker
And I told him what I'd done
He said you best go on a diet
Yeah, I hope you have some fun
And a don't go burst the bubble
On rich folks who get rude
'Cause you won't get in no trouble
When you eat that kind of food
Now they're smoking up their junk bonds
And then they go get stiff
And they're dancing in the yacht club
With Muff and uncle Biff
But there's one good thing that happens
When you toss your pearls to swine
Their attitudes may taste like shit
But go real good with wine
Chorus
Believe in all the good things
That money just can't buy
Then you won't get no bellyache
From eating humble pie
I believe in rags to riches
Your inheritance won't last
So take your Gray Poupon my friend
And shove it up your ass
Chorus

Zombie children?

Do you have any advice for me? If kids at these events is just a bad idea and I'm not wise enough to see that, I can take it. I just need to know what I can do to make this the best event for my son and everyone as it can be.
Thanks,
Jon

This event is fine for children if parents don't mind exposing their kids to staged gore. My experience has been that people are mindfull of youngin's at these sorts of events. (As a kid I loved scary stuff and I don't think babies understand the spectacle as violent, more just amusing......) The catch is that only you know the fear threshhold of your child. We love to play....let us know what you are comfortable with.
Some ideas:
A Zombie would have no regard for a zombie child, so it wouldn't make sense that they would be pushed in a stroller....
.....but, If the child is NOT a zombie baby, but live and fresh.......
The first thing I thought of is the child could be BAIT!!!
HA! HA! (let me know if you are game to be that twisted....I could help you stage something like a great photo of zombies closing in on your innocent child....)
If that is too sick for you.......maybe you can tie a wagon to yourself and drag your zombie child around so it looks unintentional......like you two got caught up in police line or "wet paint" tape or something.
That could be fun if you don't want to draw zombie attention on your baby.......
