Zombie Walk October 21st 2007

mood: dirty dirty

Walk with your un-dead brethren through the streets of Seattle in the light of day. With all your gore and glory, let’s mob Fremont! Be one of us because you are a Horror movie fan, because you love cosplay, or just for the hell of it! How often do you get to participate in something this weird and free? All that is required is that you show up in costume, respect traffic laws and practice common sense. Bring your friends! Nothing says you love someone quite like caking yourself in make-up, limping down the street together and eating them by a big bronze of Lenin!

OCT 21st- Fremont

Start: 2:45pm sharp
Meet: @ THE TROLL under the Aurora Bridge.
North 36th Street at Troll Avenue North
Seattle, Washington 98103

Milling in Fremont from 3:00pm-4:30PM
Stopping by various establishments.....arriving at Hale's Ales by about 5:00pm for food and drink. Under 21 ok.

* As mentioned previously - zombies are only really effective when traveling together in large groups. Bring your friends, foes, family and other loved ones.

*Check other sections of this LJ for makeup tips etc....

*TRY TAKING PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION TO AND FROM THE EVENT!

Potentially useful things to keep in mind:
1. Participate at your own risk.
2. Do not pretend to “attack” people not part of Zombie Walk who do not obviously want to be involved.
3. Only swarm parked cars because, if we cause traffic problems, the Police will interfere.
4. There are no permits for this event. Be safe and look out for the safety of others!

in making zombie-walk "victim" t-shirts, you know for those of us with too little money and/or time to get all decked out, but who still want to participate in the brain-eating madness.

Is there any sort of zombie walk logo or something already established?
Would anyone else be interested in purchasing one from me if I made extras?

If so, drop me a message pls.

If there isn't already a logo, I was thinking of commissioning Michael Bukowski to create one.

Any objections?

I love your idea. In the past we have simply had name tags that I wrote "victim" on and handed out to volunteers. Your idea sounds fabulous and would really add to the event.

I don't believe in "logos" for events like these........logos are corporate branding. I do, however want to support people making Zombie art and you are welcome to make Zombie Walk shirts that are your original creations and sell them to anyone who wants one. :) There are people (which I shall not name) who have tried to capitalize on this event in other cities who make lines of merchandise for profit. I despise this; it ruins the nature of underground subcultures.

Get the fine line?

That said....Make shirts for your friends and we will be delighted to eat your brains. If you are inspired to have shirts made through cafepress.com or something I will post your link if you want.

I totally get your point.

It looks like I'll end up making the shirts myself and will probably make two or three extras if anyone wants one when we get there.

See you on the 21st!

Is it alright if I show up as just a photographer to document the event? It's not everyday that I get to cover zombie walks. :)

So if we arent there exactly at 2:45 (which is kinda early) will we be left behind or do you guys use that 15 minutes before 3 to get organized.
I have never done the zombie walk before but allways wanted to but end up missing it for one reason or another so I just want to be sure that it works out this time.
Thanks

I put some up at http://www.silencedmajority.blogs.com and referenced this livejournal.
There will be two more series of photos. You can also leave links to more photos on the
comments there & we will love it!

Did i hear talk of a zombie PUB CRAWL in November? Are you helping organize that one, since you do such a fabulous job with the zombie walk?
